Key responsibilities and duties are listed, but not limited to, the below:

  • Managing the contractor’s performance in line with the agreed programme
  • Ensuring the delivery strategy is being adhered to and executed to a high standard of quality
  • Work closely with the HSE Manager to ensure all aspects of HSE are implemented on site and adhered to
  • Identify what areas of the project and its construction is open to possible risk; develop mitigation methods where possible
  • Leading technical meetings and workshops with the client and contract whilst ensuring proper records are maintained
  • Managing day-to-day working of the team on site and stakeholders are engaged on the project
  • Report on progress to the client’s management team; maintaining and updating project reporting, milestones, deliverables etc.
  • Developing regular and ad-hoc reports on the project at agreed intervals
  • Assist the Project Principal, Senior QS and Planning Engineer with the verification and analysis of performance

Candidate Specification

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Civil Engineering or any relevant engineering discipline from an international accredited university
  • Minimum of 17 years’ postgraduate experience in a construction and project management role
  • Prior experience in metro and rail projects would be preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of all health and safety aspects for live construction sites
  • Strong management skills and commercial awareness
  • IT and standard industry software skills, including hands-on knowledge of BIM and other digital platforms
  • Continuously looking for innovations and improvements to manage workload and accomplish deliverables across individuals, teams and projects
  • Using leadership skills to build and nurture relationships and also creating effective working environments
  • Able to manage multiple teams with diverse backgrounds on geographically and culturally diverse teams

Main Purpose of the Job:
The Construction Project Manager will support the Project Principal to ensure the project is being delivered with a high standard of quality, meeting project milestones whilst achieving commercial success, on a metro rehabilitation project in Dubai.
