The purpose of the role of the Senior Leisure consultant is taking care of the responsibilities of the Retail/Leisure consultancy of the Retail travel outlet ensuring smooth operations and effective day-to-day activities displaying professionalism and excellent customer service levels. The role demands servicing the travel requirements-flights, hotels, holiday packages/Leisure travel requirements & selling of travel ancillaries in line with the standard operating procedure of the organization for travel services- operations and financial reporting.


This role will report to the Team Leader and will be based out of Al Futtaim Travel Offices at Al Rigga.


The role will work 5 days per week with a rotationary Saturday working. The working hours will be as per UAE Labour Law with the latest shift timing ending at 8:30 pm (when the shift starts late).



Leisure travel handling at the retail outlet
Ensure that the customer handling of Retail & Leisure clients with regard to Airfares, Leisure/Holiday/personal travel queries, itineraries and other travel arrangements; offer acceptable travel solutions to their needs, making use of the range of AFT travel products & services, with a view to convert queries into selling, a maximum number of ancillary travel products and services at the highest possible levels of profitability for the Department.


Maintaining & accountability of the revenue documents

Maintain & be accountable of the revenue e documents such as Tickets, Hotel Vouchers & all travel related documents and ensure all utilized documents are correctly reported in the Back Office System at the end of the day/shift, to facilitate accurate invoicing by Sales and Revenue accounts. Ensure that any Petty Cash allocated to the office is accounted for correctly and financial reporting arranged. Will be responsible for the safe keeping of accountable Documents and Cash handling


Products & services reservation & documentation
To make travel related reservations and issue tickets to clients, taking care that all relevant airline rules and regulations have been complied with, and that the product delivered is commensurate with client requirements and expectations. To ensure that the Outgoing and Incoming revenue documents like Exchange orders, VMPD s Hotel Voucher transactions, Service vouchers etc, are handled accurately and efficiently.



Effective consultancy & up-selling
Make sure that alternates are recommended towards classes of travel, routes or carriers, in the case of non availability of seats, and effectively sell space (keeping in mind carriers that have been prioritized by the AFT department) and products to increase revenue for Company, seeking at the same time opportunities to up-sell and cross-sell, using other system made available by the department. Maintain a close review on the application of corporate deals and adhoc opportunities.


Effective Sales policies & procedures
Ensure the implementation of all sales policies and procedures including the use of Global distribution systems and airline and leisure web portals. To effectively implement the policies and procedures as laid down by the management from time to time.


Training & development
Attend trainings assigned .Work closely with Branch supervisor to provide on-job training to new joiners and regularly conduct briefings to update the team on necessary operational changes and latest promotions, changes in airline trends, new products and services. Identify training requirements, maintain records and nominate staff for suitable training, to ensure they are equipped to provide a professional service at all times.


Service delivery and customer complaint handling
Ensure that all customer complaints received are logged and objectively investigated, recommendations are made to the Supervisor or line manager or corrective action is taken. Monitor the quality of service delivered in the Unit to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Monitoring & working towards achievement of sales & retention targets
Monitor and analyze sales performance regularly against assigned targets and maintain the individual & team’s efforts focused on productive activities so that targets are monitored and achieved using established sales promotion techniques , customer retention & sales enhancing approaches



Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge

Educated to a degree level or equivalent & Fluency in verbal/written English & Excellent communication skills


Minimum Experience

Minimum of 5 Years frontline operational experience in the Travel industry, preference to experience in the U.A.E Travel market


Job Specific skills

Retail & Leisure and experience in Travel industry services requirements

IATA certification/Knowledge of World Geography/Global Distribution systems experience/PC skills ,Business & financial awareness, Customer service skills.
