The job purpose of the Travel consultant is taking care of the responsibilities of promoting and selling of Al Futtaim Travel products and services to the Public/Retail & Leisure Walk in clientele from a Retail travel outlet. Ensuring smooth operations, effective day to day activities, handling of direct Walk-in customers, enquiries through Telephone/email, fax and support in accordance with the standard operating procedures & assist in increasing the sales & market share and meeting the set business targets of the Retail travel outlet. Also there is a requirement to support the After office hours team on a rostered basis, wherever required.
Reporting Structure & Location
This role will report to the Retail Supervisor and will be based out of our offices at Al Rigga.
This job will require you to work 6 days per week, with one weekly off on a rotationary basis. The working shifts are rotationary and the timings can be from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm or 10:00 am to 7:00 pm or 11:00 am to 8:00 pm or 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
Assist the Retail outlet & the Branch Supervisor in effectively handling the travel operations and retail expertise on a day to day basis, effective handling of clients to increase sales/ cash flow of the outlet, ensure smooth operations & team work within the organizational guidelines in order to achieve the departments customer service and revenue targets.
Responsible for the individual daily Sales reports/Cash/Revenue document handling within the guidelines of the Standard operating procedures – To support achieving and exceeding the financial budgeted targets-Topline and bottomline for the department with effective customer service /client management maintaining the relationships meeting the KPI’s assigned.
- Travel consultancy and selling
Effective handling of Retail & Leisure clients with regard to Airfares, Leisure/Holiday/personal travel queries, itineraries and other travel arrangements; offer acceptable travel solutions to their needs, exposing at the same time, the whole range of AFT travel products & services, with a view to convert queries into selling, a maximum number of auxiliary products at the highest possible levels of profitability for the Department
- Maintaining & accountability of the revenue documents
Proper Handling of all revenue accountable documents such as Tickets and MCO’s placed in the office, and ensure all utilized documents are correctly reported in the Back Office System at the end of the day/shift, to facilitate accurate invoicing by Sales and Revenue accounts. Ensure that any Petty Cash allocated to the office is accounted for correctly and cash collected promptly banked. Jointly responsible for the safe keeping of all Accountable Documents and Cash in the unit. To ensure that the Outgoing and Incoming revenue documents like Exchange orders, EMD s Hotel Voucher transactions, Service vouchers etc, are handled accurately and efficiently.
- Products & services reservation & documentation
To make travel related reservations and issue tickets/travel documents/vouchers to clients, taking care of all relevant airline/leisure supplier rules and regulations have been complied with, and that the travel product delivered is commensurate with client requirements and expectations.
- Selling of ancillary travel services/up selling
Make sure that alternates are recommended towards classes of travel, routes or carriers, in the case of non availability of seats, and effectively sell space (keeping in mind carriers that have been prioritized by the AFT department) and ancillary travel products to increase revenue for Company, seeking at the same time opportunities to up-sell and cross-sell, using the systems and opportunities made available by the department. Maintain a close review on the application of corporate deals and adhoc opportunities.
- Adherence to standard operating procedures
Ensure to respect and strictly follow the standard operating procedures and sales policies as laid down by the management from time to time.
- Training & development
Jointly work with the the Retail Supervisor to be an active part of the individual & professional training & development courses to enhance the skill sets as recommended and to keep updated on the necessary operational processes and changes /latest promotions, changes in airline trends, new products and services
- Service delivery and customer complaint handling
Ensure that all customer complaints received are logged with the outlet supervisor and the Line Manager so as to objectively investigate, recommendations are made to the line manger or corrective action is taken. Ensure that the quality of service delivered meets the organizational requirements to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Working towards achievement of sales & retention targets
Work towards regularly to achieve assigned sales & retention targets of the retail outlet in coordination with the outlet supervisor and team members.
Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge
- Educated to a degree level or equivalent & Fluency in verbal/written English & Excellent communication skills
- Minimum of 3-5 Years frontline operational experience in the Travel industry, preference to experience in the U.A.E especially in the Dubai Travel market
Job Specific skills
- Retail & Leisure and experience in Travel industry services requirements, , IATA certification/Knowledge of World Geography/Global Distribution systems experience/PC skills, Business & financial awareness, Customer service skills.
