As a CAD/BIM Manager you will be an integral part of Jacobs process and will partner with our Client Sector and delivery teams to plan, lead, drive, and manage a variety of infrastructure and Water Business line.

The job role requires an individual with a varied range of technical skills, strategic thinking and business acumen to support and deliver transformation in the areas of BIM and CAD Management. We are seeking to be at the forefront of innovation and efficiency across all our business areas to deliver projects through design, construction and operations that exceed client expectations through the efficient and integrated approach of technology, process and people. Candidates must be able to demonstrate capability to deliver value on large scale projects using BIM and CAD.

  • Liaise with Modellers, Engineers, Project Manager/s & Design Manager/s about project BIM requirements.
  • Resource Management
  • Helping with the recruitment process
  • Be the focal point for any BIM related matter in the first instance, escalate to the TD for BIM (ME) as required.
  • Package up and send off high volume modelling tasks to GID centres.
  • Have a good understanding of the local BIM standards / requirements.
  • Ensure drawings & models are completed to the desired quality, programme & budget.
  • Ensure QA/ QC procedures are followed, and deliverable release forms used from both GID centres & local staff.
  • Take responsibility for drawings & models including daily housekeeping in regard to digital file storage.
  • Advise Engineers, Project Manager/s & Design Manager/s of issues or delays as early as possible.
  • Understanding Employers Information Requirements (EIR) documentation.
  • Authoring of BIM Execution Plans (BEPs).
  • Setting up Common Data Environments (CDEs).
  • Model auditing to ensure theyre fit for purpose.
  • Automated Clash Detection.
  • Upskilling existing CAD, Engineering & Project Management staff.
  • Arranging/ attending local & regional BIM working group monthly meetings.
  • Experience with co-ordination software such as Navisworks.
  • Knowledge of 3D software, such as; Civil 3D, AECOsim, REVIT, Tekla.
  • An understanding of manufacturing processes and construction methods would be beneficial.
  • A sound knowledge of engineering design principles would be beneficial.

The minimum qualifications for this position are:
  • Minimum 15 years Experience in Civil Engineering drawing production
  • Leadership experience
  • Water Industry Experience
  • Infrastructure Experience
  • AutoCAD
  • Microstation highly desirable
  • Experience of setting up and working in ProjectWise highly desirable
  • At least 2 of: Civil 3D, Openroads, Inroads, Revit, Aecosim;
  • Resource management able to organised and schedule work for team
  • Experience of supporting in workforce forecasting for projects/new proposals.
  • Mentoring & training Junior staff
  • Quality Assurance of CAD output
  • Experience of BIM preferred
  • Interest in developing new ways of working
