Newtec Regional Office – Dubai is looking for an Application Engineer to assure continuity of its technical support and repair services and to support the growth of its systems customer base.
As an Application Engineer you will maintain a professional relationship with our installed base and potential customers. You will participate in service desk activities, product delivery projects, remote and on-site interventions, demo preparation and execution, system validation, repair services, customer training and documentation. You will familiarize yourself with Newtec's product portfolio and educate our customers accordingly. The company's process descriptions will be your guideline to perform your job. To enhance customer’s experience and expectations you will work closely with your colleagues in the Sales, Engineering and R&D department. You will operate in a Global Support Organization in which you will primarily serve our customers in the MEA region. You will report to the Manager Customer Services MEA.

In this challenging role, you will:
  • Practice effective communication and concise reporting towards customers and co-workers.
  • Take full ownership of service requests i.e. inquiries, incidents, problems, RMA and complaints.
  • Be well-informed on company’s product strategy i.e. roadmaps, releases, EOL policy etc.
  • Timely escalate potential and reoccurring problems via the technical and hierarchical channels.
  • Primarily support MEA customer base and contribute to the global support organization when necessary.
  • Stay well-organized and accurate in your daily activities.
  • Be well-informed on the company’s contractual obligations towards customers i.e. sales and service contracts, warranty claims, etc.
  • Participate in product delivery project activities i.e. hard- and software installation, acceptance testing and customer meetings and training.
  • Assist the Account Managers with technical proposals, budgetary quotes and product demonstrations.

What we expect from you:
  • Provide workable and cost-effective solutions to support customer’s business operations.
  • Successfully complete hard- and software upgrades, unit repairs and delivery projects within agreed timeframe and/or according to contractual terms.
  • Define scope, prepare and execute product demonstrations to achieve expected results.
  • Practice good presentation skills when giving certified and/or product training to customers.
  • Keep customer’s operational downtime to a minimum during interventions.
To be successful in this role you will need to have:
  • MSc degree in Electronic Engineering or Computer Science
  • Relevant work experience in pre- and/or post sales.
  • Knowledge and expertise in any of the vertical markets of Broadcast, Consumer & Enterprise VSAT, Government & Defense, Cellular Backhaul & Trunking and Mobility, Offshore & Maritime.
  • Advanced IP networking and/or RF engineering skills.
  • Good analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • A strong sense of responsibility, team spirit and initiative.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and writing skills.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic. Other languages are an asset.
  • Your place of employment is Newtec office in Dubai, but your work can include up to 25 % travel.
